What if I never finished high school? A minimum requirement of REACH applicants is that you possess either a high school diploma or GED. If you do not have either, you will need to obtain one in order to qualify for application.
What if I was not the greatest student in high school but feel God is calling me to further my education? If your high school GPA is very low, but you have an evident call of God upon your life, you have the opportunity to express that during your interview. If an executive staff member is reviewing your file and has any further questions, they will contact you directly. If your passion is evident, then you may be accepted on academic probation.
What if I have been out of school for a long time? If it has been over 10 years since you have been in school, we still recommend to send in any transcripts that are available. If you do not believe that you can handle the work load of REACH, you have the opportunity to express that during your interview. You may be accepted on academic probation.
What would keep me from being accepted as a student? Factors that have caused students to be denied admissions include, but are not limited to, the following:
Can I start classes mid-year? I'm not sure when classes are offered. REACH Bible College & Seminary has three trimesters in one school year. The Fall Trimester begins in August/September, the Winter Trimester begins in November/December, and the Spring Trimester begins at the end of February/March or the beginning of March (depending on the academic school year). How do I decide which direction to go with my study focus (concerning "major")? For the Bachelor of Arts Degree, there is only one major available: Biblical Studies. Under this major, you have the choice of 5 concentrations: Biblical Studies, Youth Ministry, Pastoral Ministry, Church Planting, and Global Missions. The concentration you choose will depend on that which you are the most interested to learn about. The concentration you choose will determine the types of elective classes you will take to complete your degree. For example, a student with a concentration in Global Missions will take elective classes such as "Cultural Anthropology" and "World Religions and Cults," while a student with a concentration in Youth Ministry will take elective classes such as "Understanding Youth Development and Culture."
How many hours constitute "part-time" in connection with work? A BA student enrolled with less than 10 credits is considered a part-time student. Please review our Tuition page to see the full time status requirements for all degrees.
What if I'm not sure I can handle school and work at the same time? REACH's academic and ministry workload demands a lot of time and dedication. As a result, students are discouraged from attempting more than part-time work hours while enrolled at REACH. You should seriously consider whether or not you are able to devote sufficient time to your education should you choose to work.
Working is not a requirement. However, working while enrolled is just one way to reduce your total financial debt upon graduation. Determine whether doing both is a viable option for you.
How can I find out when and how much financial aid I will be receiving? After completing all steps in the financial process and verification (if applicable) the student will receive an award notification from that will outline the anticipated disbursement date along with the awarded disbursement amount.
Why are there sometimes delays in receiving my financial aid?
Are payment plans available for the BA program? All financial aid options must be used before any payment plan could be discussed. This includes Pell and subsidized, unsubsidized, and parent plus loans. Payment plans are considered on a case by case basis and only in extreme circumstances.
How do I determine if I have enough financial aid to cover my educational expenses? In order to determine if you have enough aid to cover your educational expenses or whether you might wish to decline some loan funds you must first understand the cost of education per term vs. the amount of aid you are receiving. In order to do this you need to evaluate what you have been awarded in financial aid. You will need to add the amounts of the different aid types per trimester you will attend in the academic year (indicated by a number 1, 2 or 3) and compare to the cost of educational expense per trimester.

Standard cost per trimester is roughly $2868 (4 classes) or $2843 (3 classes)* with the additional cost for Mardi Gras in the Winter trimester of $520 and Mardi Gras fee of $200 (Oakland campus students also need to include estimated travel cost of $600 ).
Once the aid types have been added, subtract the appropriate cost per the corresponding trimester to determine if you will have enough funds to cover all the educational expenses or whether you might want to decline some loan funds if you have more than enough to cover your expenses for that trimester. In the event that you wish to change/decline loan funds it is recommended that you contact the Financial Aid Office to prior to accepting your award to make sure that the changes make financial sense.
* B.A. students registered for 10-16.34 credits are awarded the full-time student scholarship. Students registered at 16.35 and above are charged $260/credit.
I have taken some classes in another college prior to joining REACH, will they transfer to REACH? To determine whether classes you have taken in another college will transfer to REACH, you need to provide an official transcript of records from the previous college(s).
