Let us cross over to the other side…
As Jesus and His disciples one day stood on the shore of the Sea of Galilee, the Lord cast His gaze to the distant shore and the city of Gadara. He turned to the disciples and said, “Get in the boat and let us cross over to the other side.”
The God of the Bible has always carried His people “to the other side” of one thing or another. And it is during the journey to the other side that we learn big, transformative life lessons that prepare us for the next level.
He carried Abraham across 1,100 miles from Ur of the Chaldees to Canaan. He led Israel across the terrible Wilderness to the Promised Land. And He led the disciples, not once, but twice across a sea of trial to reach a desired destination.
With all of them the word was essentially the same: “Let us cross over to the other side.”
We’re all in a “crossing over” today. We’re journeying from the beginning of this pandemic to the other side. The disciples learned in their crossing that Jesus was, in fact, God. This revelation helped prepare them for the battles ahead. What is God teaching you in this current trial?
Here’s what I know: Just like Jesus and the disciples reached the other side only to encounter the tragically demon possessed man to set him free, SOMEONE IS WAITING ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THIS TRIAL who will need your Jesus! Stay strong! This too shall pass!
