Last night in the place of prayer I was thanking God for the amazing doors to reach the nation he has opened up so far this year. Then I began asking Him to open even more doors of opportunity. Suddenly it was as if the Lord asked me a question: “Are you ready to take the heat that will come if I open those doors?”
His question led to having one of those slightly uncomfortable “search your heart moments” with the Lord. I knew what He was asking. Our message has always been the straight up Word—the blood of Jesus, repentance, you must be born again, Jesus is the only way to heaven, and so on. Not the kind of message the world likes.
I simply replied, “Lord, if you’re with me, yes.”
Friends, sometimes we pray prayers that God knows will rock our world if He answers them WHEN we want Him to. So rather than give an immediate answer, He begins preparing US for the answer and the answer for us. He knows what we can handle and what we can’t.
If you’re waiting for a prayer to be answered that seems to tarry, it could be the Lord wants to have a sit down with you about whether you’re ready for what the answer will bring. Jesus advised, “Count the cost.”
Rest assured that when it’s the will of God, the timing is right, and you are ready, that door is going to swing wide open!
